Metro’s innovative product designs are extremely versatile and allows you to reconfigure, add-on or break-down the product as your needs change over time. Work tables are available in your choice base materials: stainless steel or MetroMax i polymer with stainless steel or phenolic tops. Units are shipped knocked down and assemble in minutes. Solid shelves and 3-sided frames utilize a tapered sleeve which provides a positive lock when pushed down. Table construction also utilizes tapered sleeves as well as innovative double-sided tape to affix various top materials.
Metro’s line of stainless laboratory work tables are specifically designed for lab environments. Built primarily from Type 304 stainless steel, these tables provide a long-life performance and excellent corrosion resistance. For mobile models, there is a wide selection of stem casters to meet your requirements. The tables are load rated at 50 lbs. per square foot (.024kg per sq. cm) up to a maximum of 600 lbs. (273kg) assuming evenly distributed load and the caster specification meets requirement. Stainless based work tables are available with a stainless or phenolic resin (Trespa) tops.
Countertop Material Definitions and Properties
Phenolic Resin: Compression molded of organic fiber-reinforced phenolic core with an integrally cured thermoset resin surface. Stronger than Epoxy resin over a span and not as brittle. Properties: moderate & high chemical use, fair* heat resistance, excellent abrasion and impact resistance, excellent strength and good stain resistance.
Stainless Steel: Work surfaces are fabricated from Type 304 stainless steel which provides excellent protection in corrosive environments. Properties: high chemical use, excellent heat resistance, good abrasion, impact and stain resistance, good strength.
Epoxy resin: Epoxy resins, silica, organic fillers and inert hardeners are cast in forms and cured to a uniform mixture throughout. Properties: moderate chemical use, excellent heat resistance, good abrasion, impact and stain resistance, good strength.
